THE Glens raced into a 17th minute lead in fortunate circumstances when a Jim O'Hanlon 12-yard strike took a massive deflection off the chest of defender Adam McMinn and past 'keeper Niall Morgan.
And it was 2-0 a couple of minutes from the break when Stephen Carson laid the ball off for Darren Boyce to turn and shoot home from 10 yards out.
On 63 minutes Darren Murphy might have pulled one back for the Swifts only to turn the ball wide from a Shea McGerrigan left-wing cross.
But they did reduce the arrears with seven minutes remaining when Dermot McCaffrey back-heeled a free-kick into the path of Ryan O'Neill to beat Elliott Morris from some 20 yards.
