GLENAVON had perhaps the first serious scoring effort of note on 25 minutes when Crues 'keeper Sean O'Neill was forced to tip a Niall Henderson free-kick over the crossbar.

The deadlock was broken right on the stroke of half-time when an Aidan Watson cross was knocked on by Stuart Dallas for Declan Caddell to head home.

Then, on 55 minutes, Dallas made it 2-0 with a right-footed blast from the edge of the area after David Rainey had floated the ball over from the left.

Stephen Baxter's side might have added to their advantage through a Timmy Adamson header onto the bar while, later in the game, Davy O'Hare produced a fine point blank save to deny Jordan Owens.
