INSTITUTE recorded their first win of the season with 2-1 victory over Loughgall.

Mark Kelly put 'Stute ahead with a neat finish after 30 minutes. Stephen Parkhouse made it 2-0 after Davitt Walsh put him through.

Loughgall started the second half the stronger and had a strong penalty claim turned down after John Curran brought their centre forward down, but the ref awarded a free kick on the edge of the box which Alan Ryan comfortably saved.

Institute also had a strong penalty claim of their own, when it appeared Mark Kelly was brought down in the box but the referee thought otherwise and waved play on.

With minutes remaining Loughgall were awarded a penalty which Verner dispatched down the middle of the net leaving the final score, Institute 2-1 Loughgall.
