Lurgan Celtic

2 - 1

Portstewart

Referee: Alan Hayes

CELTIC claimed their second league win to give them maximum points in their league campaign.

They took the lead when Fitzpatrick blasted home after a hand ball to go in 1-0 up at the interval thanks to Madison in the Portstewart goal who made two outstanding saves when goals seemed certain.

Celtic then increased the lead after the break when Fitzpatrick forced home a corner but the visitors then reduced the arrears when Pedan scored a penalty after a hand ball.

Shortly afterwards Gaston was given his second yellow for arguing with the linesman and when Haire was brought down on 78 minutes Donnell also received his 2nd yellow but Fitzpatrick, on a hat trick, smashed the penalty off the crossbar to leave the result 2-1 giving Celtic their best start to the league for several seasons.
