THE importance of Lucas Adamczyk to the PSNI as a striker was clearly demonstrated in the opening twenty minutes of this League game played in perfect conditions at Newforge.
The first came after 15 minutes when he slotted home a left wing cross from Rory Hamill and the second when he picked up loose ball in midfield ran ten yards and beat Damien Nugent in the visitors goals with a brilliant drive from twenty yards.
Despite being two down Sport and Leisure battled their way back into the game and were rewarded when Darren Gallagher capitalised on a Philson slip to slide the ball past Wilson from close in.
With half time approaching the PSNI suddenly found themselves down to nine men when the referee red carded Peter Mackle and Rory Hamill after they were adjudged to have committed serious foul play.
In the same incident Daniel Largey was also dismissed for retaliation.
In a closely fought second half both team had chances with the best going to Darren Gallagher when he headed straight into Wilson's arms after a Philson mistake had presented him with a golden opportunity to equalise.
