IT WAS an entertaining, though scoreless, first half, the two main incidents coming when Queen's claimed a penalty when Murphy fell in the box and Derriaghy claiming that the ball crossed the line in a goalmouth scramble, both turned down.
With 61 minutes played Derriaghy went one up.
Lively winger Andrew Rossbottom broke clear on the left and blasted the ball past Gerard Duff from 16 yards.
In the latter stages Queen's came more into the game and had chances when Michael Allison's drive was well saved and when Connor Mulholland's near post header went over the top.
In the last minute as Queen's piled forward in search of an equaliser, Derriaghy broke away on the left and Aaron Baker set up Colin Arnott who slotted it home from about the penalty spot to confirm his side's well deserved victory. |
