GLENTORAN spoiled Linfield's coronation as League Champions with this two-goal victory at Windsor Park.
Calum Birney fired the Glens in front after 18 minutes with a header into the top corner after connecting with a Stephen Carson corner from the right.
And the 19-year-old might have added a second a quarter-of-an-hour later when from another corner, this time from the left, he sent a free header just over.
Remarkably Birney did double Glentoran's lead eight minutes into the second half with an almost identical goal to his first.
Once again Carson floated over a corner from the right and, again, Birney left his marker to nod the ball into the bottom right corner from six yards.
Linfield's attentions now turn to next Saturday's JJB Sports Irish Cup final against Crusaders and a potential fifth double in six seasons.
