CARRICK Rangers bowed out of the Carling Premiership with this five-goal defeat of Donegal Celtic.
Chris Murray opened the scoring for Carrick with an 11th minute header past 'keeper Niall Largey.
Paul McVeigh levelled for DC on 18 minutes with a well placed low free-kick to the left of 'keeper Paul Murphy.
But Paul Heatley showed great composure to restore Carrick's lead on 29 minutes, five minutes later, Kevin Lynch added a third with an 18-yard lob after he had charged the ball down.
Jonathan Addis added number four seven minutes into the second half before, ten minutes later, Darren McNamee pulled one back for Celtic.
However, Shane Dolan nodded Carrick's fifth into the corner with 20 minutes remaining to make sure of the points.
DC did grab themselves an 83rd minute consolation after a Patrick McIlkenny effort crept over the line but it wasn't enough to prevent a seventh successive defeat for Stephen Small's side. |
