Paddy Kelly's side, who won the competition as recently as 2005 had their fourth round berth more or less booked by half-time thanks to goals from Daniel Lyons and Liam Watson.

Lyons opened the scoring after 22 minutes with a clinical drive beyond Larne 'keeper Brian Neeson after latching on to an inch perfect Liam Bradley delivery.

It was 2-0 just a couple of minutes later. Bradley was again involved when he released Paul McVeigh who, in turn, sent a cross into the penalty area where Liam Watson was on hand to turn the ball home from barely two yards out.

That was how it stayed, however, until three minutes of time when McVeigh literally burst the netting with a powerful finish.

And to cap a memorable day at the office for Celtic defender Michael McLean was named the WKD Intermediate Cup man-of-the-match.
