Larne 1-0 Ballyclare Comrades
Ladbrokes.com Championship - Tuesday, 7th April, 2009
A NOEL Corrigan goal just after the hour handed Larne the East Antrim bragging rights with victory over Ballyclare Comrades at Inver Park.

He struck on 61 minutes when he managed to get behind the Comrades defence to get on the end of a BJ McMenamin ball and lob advancing 'keeper Paddy Flood.

It was a rare highlight in a match of few chances played in terrible conditions.

The visitors twice came close through Andy Simms inside the opening quarter-of-an-hour while, for Larne, Michael McQuoid had an effort pushed wide by Flood from 16 yards early in the second half.

Ballyclare might have levelled six minutes after Corrigan's goal only to find Alex Spackman an unbeatable force as he once again kept out a Simms effort.

McQuoid was denied from close range a few minutes later at the other end before, towards the finish, Gareth Curlett came close to levelling only to see his shot cleared off the line by a home defender.
