Coagh United 3-2 Armagh City
Ladbrokes.com Championship - Saturday, 11th April, 2009
COAGH United came away with all the points at Hagan Park but it could have been very different if visitors Armagh City had put away their chances.

Armagh started brightly with Shea Campbell breaking through the Coagh defence to shoot over. On eight minutes Francis McCann's shot from the edge of the box was deflected away for a corner while at the other end Coagh's Jamie Gardiner just missed the target from Mark McMenemy's cross.

The home side controlled the game in the early stages, taking advantage at every opportunity but Randal Reid, Stuart Dallas and Garth Reid could find no way past the in-form McFederick. At the other end Shea Campbell saw his shot going just wide from a Cullen cross while Francis McCann came close moments later.

Armagh finally made the breakthrough, Coagh's failure to clear the ball out of defence, from Walker corner kick saw Quinn's header deflect off Gavin Cusack and into the net. This spurred the home side on and Shea Campbell should have put them further ahead with just the keeper to beat but Patterson made a great tackle to clear the danger before Campbell could shoot.

Coagh's Andy Hamilton threw his team a life line on 44 minutes when he headed cleanly into the net from a Stuart Dallas corner kick.

Coagh continued where they left off with William McFederick saving to deny Jamie Gardiner just after the restart. Coagh's David Calderwood defended well against Armagh's Shea Campbell whose frustration started to show as he failed time and time again to break down the visitors defence.

Coagh continued to be dangerous on the break with Stuart Dallas and Randal Reid. On 79 minutes Coagh's young striker, who was having a quiet game by his standards, broke through the visitor's back line, only to find the side netting after rounding McFederick.

Armagh broke the dead-lock again in the second half when the Coagh defence gifted Shea Campbell with a goal and the much travelled striker made no mistake rounding Pollock to give City the lead.

The home side replied ten minutes later with double substitution Scott McCordick and Steven Park linking well with Garth Reid which finished with Park slotting the ball home from close range to level the scores once again. Coaghs bench did the trick again moments later when Gary Baird replaced Andy Hamilton and with his first touch he bundled the ball over the line the winner from a Stuart Dallas corner kick.
