Banbridge Town 2-0 Ballyclare Comrades
Ladbrokes.com Championship - Tuesday, 14th April, 2009
A MARK Whitla brace earned Banbridge Town all three points in a proverbial game of two halves at Crystal Park on Tuesday night.

Comrades dominated the first half with their best chance coming on 18 minutes. Darren Nelson set up a dipping effort from 25 yards out for Mark Craig but Town custodian Gareth Buchanan was on hand to tip the shot over the bar.

Banbridge took the lead 10 minutes into the second half when Whitla finished a move he had started, doing well to get into the box to support Aidan McVeigh. The former Glenavon man supplied a low cross for Whitla to side foot home.

As Town went on to take the game by the scruff of the neck they made it 2-0 eight minutes from time. A good pass set Whitla through on goal and he made no mistake from 10 yards out.
