Larne 1-3 Loughgall
JJB Sports Irish Cup - Saturday, 17th January, 2009
LOUGHGALL defeated Larne for the second successive Saturday to progress comfortably to the next round of the JJB Sports Irish Cup.

Niall Currie's side put three past the Reds last weekend in the league and repeated the feat in this cup tie at Inver Park to earn a last 16 clash with neighbours Portadown.

The Villagers moved in front after 20 minutes when Lukasz Adamczyk pounced to turn home a loose ball before Aaron Baker doubled their advantage barely a couple of minutes later.

Larne were handed a glimmer of hope, though, when Loughgall defender Glenn Waddell was dismissed by referee Alan Black following a foul on new signing Jamie Marsh.

But the tie was put beyond doubt a minute from the interval when Ryan Moffatt knocked a third past Larne 'keeper Brian Neeson.

Paul Millar's side did put up a spirited fight after the break, though, with Bertie Fulton pulling a goal back on 62 minutes while both he and Damien McLaughlin were later denied by visiting 'keeper Marc Robinson.
